- Low Oil Pressure Light
- Low Engine Oil Warning Light
This warning light indicates that either:
- The oil temperature is too high.
- The oil level or pressure is too low.
Low oil levels or pressure can lead to severe engine damage, so it’s crucial to address this issue immediately.
Can I still drive with my low engine oil light on?
No – you should stop as soon as it is safe to do so and turn off the engine.
What should I do?
- Pull over safely and turn off the engine.
- Check for visible oil leaks under the vehicle.
- Check the engine oil level and top up if necessary.
- If the light goes off after topping up, you can continue your journey.
- If oil levels are fine but the light remains on, this could indicate a faulty oil pump, which requires immediate attention.
If the light stays on, you should:
- Do not continue driving, as this could cause severe engine damage.
- Contact Europcar's dedicated breakdown provider to have the vehicle checked as soon as possible. Driving any further could damage the engine.
